Arturo was born and studied Chemical Engineering in Mexico. In 1989, he came to the United States to study a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University and has lived in Houston, Texas for the last 31 years.
After 24 years as an engineer, Arturo began ministry with the Catholic Church at St. Jerome Catholic Church where he worked for five years. He was then hired as Director for the Office of Family Life Ministry where he served for ten years. Arturo serves as a permanent deacon at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.
Esperanza was born and studied Dentistry in Mexico. She has been a catechetical leader in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston for over 29 years. She worked for 8 years as Associate Director in the Office of Continuing Christian Education (now the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis) in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston where she trained catechists and catechetical leaders.
Both Deacon Arturo and Esperanza earned a Bachelor in Pastoral Theology and a Master of Theological Studies at the University of St Thomas in Houston, Texas. Esperanza and Arturo hosted a Radio Maria program “En Familia” for over 13 years.
Their latest adventure together was a two year stint working for the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers as Mission Educators and Promoters.They have been marriedfor 39 years and are the proud parents of six adult children and grandparents to ten children.
